Not an orange pumpkin in sight this Halloween. Chances are that if you hadn’t bought your pumpkin by yesterday morning, you’ll have gone without in this neck of the woods, as our local shops had sold out by lunchtime!
Not a virtual pumpkin in sight either. For my Halloween themed designs I chose to go with vampire bats and orange text.
This square ecard design is a variation of one I’d created for someone else, using one of my own acrylic under-paintings, the girl, for the base image.
For the ebook cover below, I took ipad photographs of trees in the garden and manipulated the images in photoshop. Being able to take your own photos to use in your own designs can be very handy in helping you achieve a unique look.
The ebook cover isn’t a finished work, so with the leeway of artistic license it had an edited stock photo bat added, along with orange text and a combination of textures from the creative design resources I’ve been practising with.
Now I’m wondering whether the book’s storyline will take a turn and develop into a vampire story. We’ll see.
Hope you’ve had a fabulous Halloween.
I’m off to grab a few ‘sweet dreams’ – with neck tucked well under the duvet!
