A small business without a website looking to attract more customers through their door benefit by actually having this 'web presence', they may otherwise not appear at all in an online search <em>(and miss out on customers)</em>. It's also an added 'web presence' for businesses with a website as they '<strong>may'</strong> appear in the local listing when their own site may not! It's always fruitful to have your business information in as many <strong>"relevant"</strong> places as possible. Google local aims to help local business maintain that relevance.
