Working with Authors usually involves us working with other people with particular expertise. As in this case, Sandy’s overall project was a team effort with Website Designs Chester managing and coordinating the workflow process and designs.
Sandy is such a fun and inspirational character so she really wanted her book to be different from the standard, some may say ‘dry’ (or boring) ‘work life balance’ style books, with some of ‘herself’ injected into the book and her website.
She achieved that by hiring a couple of Chester based artists to draw custom cartoons for inclusion in the book, which we also used in her website, customised with a spot or two of colour.
Sandy’s site is simple, built on WordPress and Genesis, houses a few articles, but is mainly for people to find if they search for her name or are interested to find out more about her back story, brain injury, and her book.
Sandy’s Personal Story : Because Accidents Happen!
As a freelance business psychologist, the home office is the center of my professional life and being organised is essential!
Due to brain damage from a head injury, I lost the ability to organise anything! The effects of the accident turned my office into a nightmare of chaos and disorganisation.
As I recovered, I created, or perhaps re-created, ways to become more organised, so I could continue with my work.
Of course I wasn’t unique in having problems with an untidy home office. The increased spread of the home office as the most common place to work, has led to the world becoming full of hidden away offices in a constant muddle.
Whoever you are, whatever your focus, if you use part of your home as an office, you can learn how to organise your home office for success.
Sandy’s book, Organise Your Home Office, has been self published and is still available on Amazon and through Lulu. Sandy moved to live by the sea in Wales and is enjoying exploring her new life during 2014.
