Leaves in all shades of autumn are whipped from their summer secure branches, being scattered to the ground like a colourful shower of confetti, by seasonal winds.
Huddled together, battered and smothered by the almost relentless droplets of heavy rain, they lay still, exposed to the elements as the darkness draws in and the temperature drops.
A bright morning sun rises to touch them gently where they lay, revealing and reflecting their vivid colours, hues and shades of autumn… and you see the beauty under foot.
