Taking a walk on the wild side into graphic design is much easier when you have a little support. A road-map helps when learning the ins and outs of the necessary tools.
To create the ‘Walk on the Wild Side’ poster design I used this poster design tutorial as a road-map to guide me through the design process using Photoshop. Using other images, I wanted to try out the arty textures to give the design a hand-made look.
Gold Moon on Reflection
The gold moon in the tutorial appealed to me from a design and learning point of view.
Although I am pleased with the final result, I didn’t create the moon in the same way as the tutorial. After a few ‘handle removal’ attempts, I created the shape separately then continued.
DC, how do I remove that handle?
If you take a look at the DesignCuts tutorial and scroll down to the section about ‘creating the centrepiece supermoon’ and compare that to my supermoon, you probably won’t notice where I went astray.
I’m sure taking off that handle is very very easy, when you know how, I just don’t know how yet.
Not one to give up, I’ll be working on it when I next find a spare hour or so to practice some more.
For now, I hope you appreciate my latest graphic design attempt.
