WordPress Re-Design
Update – Sept. 2016: Due to retirement, Women’s Thoughts website is sadly closing its main doors. However, the lively community members can still connect via the replacing basic forum. Friends will still be happily connected.
How the Womens Thoughts Website looked before its WordPress re-design.
The previous website structure and navigation was confusing visitors, limiting their access to features of interest and, indeed in most instances, leaving visitors ‘stranded’ with no option but to leave the website completely.
Women’s Thoughts ‘Bounce Rate’ was 73% (That’s visits to the site consisting of only one page view).
Since changing the site over to WordPress, restructuring the navigation and creating an attractive design, Women’s Thoughts bounce rate improved significantly over a reasonably short period of time.
Women’s Thoughts previous ‘bounce rate’ of 73% –
reduced to just 17.9%.
Other metrics improved, for example:
- Visitors views of 1.9 unique pages per day up – to 27 page views per day
- Visitors previously spent about 50 seconds of their time on the site, up – to 34.4 minutes time on the site!
Everything is looking great and far exceeds our expectations! We certainly feel that the new design ticks all the boxes, and more, that we wanted and will help us to progress further and increase our viewing figures. It makes a lot more sense!
